Heerenveen gaat deelnemen aan Finse competitie

Sc Heerenveen wil vanaf volgend seizoen onder de naam Heerenveen Helsinki deelnemen aan de Finse competitie. De Friese club is druk doende te participeren in FC Jokerit, de huidige nummer tien uit de hoogste Finse afdeling. Sc Heerenveen staat al jaren bekend om zijn uitgekiende scoutingsapparaat in Noord-Europa en wil met Heerenveen Helsinki een bruggenhoofd slaan. Scandinavische talenten kunnen dan bij de Finse tak rijpen, alvorens ze de overstap naar Friesland maken. Op termijn moet Heerenveen Helsinki deelnemen aan de te vormen Scandinavian League. Het is de bedoeling dat scheidend hoofdtrainer Foppe de Haan de Finse club gaat structureren en op parttime basis technisch directeur wordt.

Heerenveen – Sportclub Heerenveen ziet af van participatie in de Finse competitie. De Friese voetbalclub werd onlangs door Harry Harkimo, de steenrijke voorzitter van FC Jokerit, benaderd om de club onder de nieuwe naam Heerenveen Helsinki te herstructureren. Op het financiële vlak konden de clubs het echter niet eens worden.

FC Jokerit, de oude club van Heerenveen-speler Mika Väyrynen, staat op dit moment tiende de hoogste Finse voetballiga. Dat kleurloze kleed wil de voorzitter graag van zich afwerpen en daarom deed Harkimo via een aantal Nederlandse voetbalmakelaars aan Heerenveen het verzoek om te participeren in de Finse club. Uitgangspunt daarbij was een win-win situatie. Heerenveen Helsinki zou tot de top van Finland kunnen doordringen en Heerenveen zou kunnen profiteren van de machtspositie die het op de Scandinavische voetbalmarkt zou verkrijgen. Op termijn zou Heerenveen Helsinki ook deelnemen aan de nieuw te vormen Scandinavian League.
Dinsdag werd het plan echter afgeblazen. ,,We konden het financieel niet eens worden’’, aldus Harkimo, ,,en daarom gaat het hele verhaal niet door.’’ Heerenveen-voorzitter Riemer van der Velde was woensdagochtend nog niet op de hoogte van het afketsen van de onderhandelingen. ,,Dêrom kin ik ek neat sizze.’’
FC Jokerit heeft in Finland een magische naam en dat is met name de verdienste van de voorzitter. De steenrijke suikeroom Harry Harkimo zorgde ervoor dat de gelijknamige ijshockeyclub van een modale club in Finland uitgroeide tot éen van de beste verenigingen van Europa. Eenzelfde idee had Harkimo ook voor ogen met de voetbaltak van FC Jokerit en Heerenveen moest daarin een belangrijke rol spelen. Harkimo: ,,Heerenveen is een goede club en heeft in ons land een goede naam. Jammer dat we het niet eens konden worden.’’ Voor Harkimo was Heerenveen de enige optie geweest. ,,We gaan het plan niet aan een andere club voorleggen.’’
De afgebroken onderhandelingen betekenen ook dat Foppe de Haan zich zal heroriënteren op zijn toekomstige positie binnen de club. Was het verbond wel door zijn gegaan dan was de kans namelijk groot geweest dat De Haan, die een grote voorliefde voor Finland koestert, de club zou herstructureren en technisch directeur zou zijn geworden. ,,Mar it hiele ferhaal giet net troch, sa ha ik krekt ek heard’’, aldus De Haan. De Nesser oefenmeester zal daarom nog deze maand met de nieuwe hoofdtrainer voor het volgend seizoen Gertjan Verbeek en voorzitter Van der Velde om de tafel gaan zitten om over zijn toekomstige rol te praten.

The co-operation between Heerenveen and Jokerit will start march the 1st, according to the contract. Jokerit will play in the new competition in Finland as Heerenveen Helsinki (new name!). The co-operation includes exchange of players and coaches. When the competition in the Netherlands has ended (somewhere in May), Foppe the Haan (our coach at the moment) will be the techical manager/director (?) of Heerenveen Helsinki.

What do the Jokerit supporters think of this situation? Are they mad about the change of clubname?

FC Jokerit (1999) has conflicting past.

Hated and complex Bisnesman (Ice-Hockey) Harry Harkimo bought a football club PK-35 in 1998. (PK-35 Founded 1918 in Viipuri which we lost to Russia in Winter War)

He owned Jokerit Hockey Team and then changed PK-35 to FC Jokerit.

FC Jokerit couse conflicting emotion here in Finland.

I myself moved to Helsinki 1997 and watched PK-35 games which was played near by.
Then I follow FC Jokerit games.

My situation about the club was conflicting becouse Harkimo put his money to Ice-Hockey.

There were a lot of people who hated Harkimo becouse he cheanged PK-35 to FC Jokerit. And all the opponents hated escpecially FC Jokerit and Harkimo.

Harkimo's name was always present when we talk about Jokerit.

He tryed to put Veikkausliiga (Finnish Eredivisie) drop out games and was hated by Football Fans even he's own.

He is a complex person put he build Finnair Stadium here in Helsinki.

Some FC Jokerit supporters are mad about the name.

Some are not, becouse now club is off Ice-Hockey.

In Finland football is rising. It will become number one sport here.

There is a cultural shock when we talked about Holland and Finland football.

This could be the great beginning.

it could surely be a positive thing to co-operate. But how is this thing going, is the current owner of Jokerit, Harkimo, going to sell the club to sc Heerenveen? If that is true, I can imagine supporters being happy with it because he leaves.

Hans Vonk, our first goalie is going to leave us after this season... (We also have a pretty good second goalkeeper, but he's still pretty young)

The crucial thing from the Jokerit supporters' point of view seems to be whether "Jokerit" will stay in the name or whether it will become something like "Heerenveen-Helsinki" like VI mentioned. If the name was totally changed, the supporters would most likely abandon the club and form their own Jokerit in a lower division. It would also be very hard to find Finnish sponsors for the club and the attendances would probably be very low. In my opinion it would be very bad move to change the name, it would probably mean that "Heerenveen-Helsinki" or whatever would need lots of financial support from the mother club.

It's also an interesting fact that HJK, who are the local rivals of Jokerit, have almost similar shirts as Heerenveen. Would be a bit strange if the new team played in same kinds of shirts as Heerenveen.

Maybe PK-35 can get back in the new name... isn't Jokerit associated with that Harkimo man?? Why de they want to keep the name Jokerit then... What you say about attendances is correct, i think. So the club must have (keep) its Finnish character.

No, the real football men think that we've already had enough of these stupid name changes. Who do you think that would actually support a team called "Heerenveen-Helsinki"? Jokerit already has a fan base (although not that big), so why waste that? And Jokerit is quite a strong brand in Finland, so with a bit of success the interest for them could rise quite a lot.

But I agree that Harkimo is stupid.

There are lot of potential here in Finland what comes to players.

Only think what has been wrong is (but is getting better) is organisation of clubs.

Iltalehden Hollannista saamien tietojen mukaan FC Jokerit siirtyy Hollannin pääsarjaseura Heerenveenin omistukseen. Yhteistyö alkaa maaliskuun ensimmäisenä päivänä. Joukkueen nimi vaihtuu huhtikuussa.

Pelaajia ja valmentajia kierrätetään. Käytännössä tämä tarkoittanee yksisuuntaista ilmasiltaa Heerenveenistä Helsinkiin. Heerenveen pääsee peluuttamaan nuoriaan ja reservimiehiään Veikkausliigassa.

Jokeri-pelaajia ja valmentajia ei ole informoitu kierrätyksestä. Jokereita valmentavat tällä hetkellä Pasi Rautiainen ja Hannu Tuukkanen.

Foppe de Haanista tulee kesäkuun alussa helsinkiläisjoukkueen tekninen johtaja. De Haan, 60, on palvellut Heerenveeniä vuodesta 1985. Hänet on palkittu kahdesti vuoden valmentajana viime vuosina.

Jos ja kun uuden joukkueen komentokieleksi tulee hollanti ja englanti, lienevät valmentajatkin hollantilaisia.

FC Jokerien toimitusjohtaja Petri Helin ei jatka tehtävässään. Tiettävästi Helinille ilmoitettiin jo pari viikkoa sitten asiasta.

Heerenveen on tällä hetkellä kahdeksantena Hollannin liigassa. Joukkueessa pelaavat Mika Väyrynen ja Hannu Haarala.

Jokerien tilanne muistuttaa vuoden 2001 tapahtumia. Silloin Jokereita valmensi hollantilainen Jan Everse, joka sai kesken kauden potkut. Jokerit putosi liigasta nimekkäällä joukkueella, jonka keskikentällä pelasivat nykyiset maajoukkuemiehet Mika Väyrynen ja Alexei Eremenko jr.

FC Jokerit teki kaudella 2001 rajun taloudellisen tappion.

Harry Harkimo (kuvassa) hankki PK-35:n omistukseensa syksyllä 1998 ja muutti joukkueen nimen FC Jokereiksi.

FC Jokerien liigataru alkoi keväällä 1999 Rautiaisen komennossa. Ympyrä käytännössä sulkeutuu huomisessa liigacupin ottelussa HJK:ta vastaan Helsingissä Talin hallissa. Jokerit saa jalkeille juuri ja juuri joukkueellisen pelaajia.

Tarina päättyy nololla tavalla.

Jokeri-johto hylkäsi täysin FC Jokerit viime kauden jälkeen. Uusia pelaajasopimuksia ei ollut lupa tehdä. Uutta omistajaa arvuuteltiin. Siltä osin farssi on nyt päättynyt.

FC Jokerien yleisömäärät olivat viime kaudella pieniä. Kun nimi muuttuu Heerenveeniksi tai vastaavaksi, katsomot tuskin pullistelevat.

Heerenveen ostamassa Jokereita

FC Jokereiden pitkään hämärän peitossa olleeseen tulevaisuuteen ollaan viimein saamassa valoa.

Iltalehden mukaan Hollannin pääsarjaseura SC Heerenveen on hankkimassa FC Jokerit omistukseensa maaliskuun alusta lukien.

Omistajanvaihdos merkitsisi joukkueen nimen muuttumista keväämmällä ja todennäköisesti myös muutoksia niin valmentaja- kuin pelaajapuolellakin. Lehden tietojen mukaan joukkuetta ei ole informoitu tilanteen aiheuttamista muutoksista. Pelaajapuolelle sopimus merkitsisi todennäköisesti kuitenkin vahvistuksien saamista Hollannista.
