diepFries schreef:Just wondering BANANA MAN, 'cause Gomes never played for SC Heerenveen.. Is it really necessary to create a new Gomes-topic on a SC Heerenveen-forum again? It's a pity the other [English] subforum did get lost, there were a few interesting, a few useful and a few funny topics between them, but if you want to talk about Gomes you'd better go to a PSV Eindhoven-forum, don't you think?

But were is Banana now ?
Jeroen schreef:In the Netherlands everybody thought he was a clown in his first 6 months.. after that he was settled and he became the best. The same thing is happening in England. At the end of the season there's no more discussion about Gomes.
Haven't seen 1 second of yesterday's match against ManUtd, but I heard on the radio Gomes was pretty important/impressive?BANANA MAN schreef:

There probably is an English way of saying as well, but although in Dutch we say "1 zwaluw maakt nog geen zomer", it might be Gomes finally seems te be on his way up (to the stars)?

That's why he became a goalkeeper!!

Before the passback rule came in I would agree with you Benderwel. But it's a different matter now. Keeper's are encouraged to start off moves with the ball at their feet and receive the ball under pressure, so need to be competent.
Thank God for the great English goalkeepers:
- David James
- Paul Robbinson
- Scot Carsson
That are the real Clowns of te PL and England national team!
Did you ever wonder why almost all PL-Clubs have a keeper from abroad?
